Rock the Mic -Artists Against Violence

Time is running out!  We've received some great entries so don't miss out!  Send in your original song today. Don't forget to include the lyrics and remember the song should address the anti-violence movement!

The Contest:

Create an original song containing a message that speaks to the anti-violence movement, respect, healthy living, settling disputes in a positive way, standing up for what is right, self-respect and dignity.  All music genres are accepted from rap to hip hop, rock & roll to alternative, country and christian.  Music or back beats are not required for entry.  Your song can be sung solo or by a group or's up to you!  Your entry must be PG13.

The Rules:

All entries must be accompanied by an official Rock the Mic:  Artists Against Violence contest entry form.  You must attach a printed or typed copy of the lyrics to your entry.  You must place your name and phone number on your MP3 or CD.  All entries must be original work.  You may submit more than one entry but only one winning song per person. The entries will be judged on the following criteria:

  • A message against violence and/or promoting a message of step-up and speak-out when witnessing a crime in your community and/or respect, healthy living, settling disputes in a positive way, respect and dignity.   
  • Originality and Creativity  
  • Concept and Presentation
  • The bottom line is that the judges will be looking for a good positive product with a totally positive message.

(Any foul language or lyrics promoting violence will immediately disqualify your entry)
